About Me

I am an alumni from Stanford University with a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science with a concentration in artificial intelligence, and a minor in East Asian Studies. As a designer and developer, I aim to build systems that enable people to comfortably interact with intelligent machines. I am also interested in making computer science more accessible across age and different backgrounds. In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, coding and being outdoors - running, playing tennis and paddling in a dragonboat.

Skills

  • CSS I have extensive experience with CSS from creating several websites. I know how to make animated objects using CSS, configure the CSS for different resolutions, and produce easy-to-use style sheets for other programmers to utilize.
  • HTML I know how to build clean HTML code for websites, and I understand what classes and IDs are appropriate for JavaScript developers to use when manipulating my HTML code.
  • JSON I have used JSON objects in multiple web development projects, and I know how to effectively stringify or parse a JSON object.
  • Bootstrap Framework I am very proficient with Bootstrap and have used this framework to develop several responsive, mobile projects on the web. I have used almost all of the custom HTML and CSS components, and jQuery plugins while building websites.
  • Command line I have taken a class taught in Unix at Stanford University. I utilized the command line frequently while doing research for the Mechanical Engineering Department at Stanford during the summer of 2015.
  • JQuery I use jQuery in all my websites to make them more efficent and organized. I’ve utilized jQuery syntax and commands for HTML document traversal and manipulation, event handling, animation, and Ajax requests.
  • Java I enrolled in the intro course CS106A at Stanford University, which taught programming methodology in Java. I learned about the basics of an object oriented language and created several applications and games such as Brick Breaker, Hangman, and a basic version of Facebook.
  • Javascript I took a class called CS42 at Stanford University that taught Javascript. I have created several websites using Javascript code such as cafeephata.com and this website.
  • C++ I took the class CS106B at Stanford University, which taught me the fundamentals of C++. I have built several programs using C++ such as a graph visualizer, priority queue, and Boggle.
  • Python I taught myself Python while in high school and have used it primarily in my research for the Mechanical Engineering Department at Stanford University. I have created Python scripts and modules in order to perform computer simulations and graph the resultant data.
  • PHP I've worked with PHP for business websites in order to create email subscription forms that can store data in a MySQL database. I taught myself how to use phpMyAdmin and integrate PHP script files with HTML and JavaScript code.
  • MD++ I learned MD++, a C++ package made by Professor Wei Cai at Stanford University, for my research in molecular dynamics. I have used it to create polymer melt simulations in order to analyze the mean square distance between monomers and how the double bridging algorithm can shorten the number of timesteps a simulation can take.
